Madison Elementary is introducing a new opportunity for families to participate in our shared community. Each month, Madison will be open one Tuesday evening to families. Our first even will be Tuesday, September 20th from 5:30 - 7:00. On that evening, families will have access to:
McFarlin Food Pantry - as always, McFarlin comes once a month to offer our families FREE groceries.
The Library - come by and read a book with your child, build something in Makerspace, or pick out a family book.
Clothing Closet - we are opening a clothing closet for our families. Come and discreetly shop for what your children need (this will fully open later in the school year).
Parenting Resources - Come and browse the parenting section and check things out to take home. We have a variety of materials: math games, manipulatives, handwriting tools, language arts kits, parenting books, family games, and conversation starters.
We hope that Resource Night is a big success and expands into other programs for you to enjoy with your child. Come out and see us!
NPS's Norman Regional Kids Virtual Care is Here
Norman Public Schools is partnering with Norman Regional Health System and Norman Regional Health Foundation to provide Norman Regional KIDS Virtual Care (NRKVC). NRKVC is a program where your child can see a local health care provider during school hours without ever leaving school. Common ailments that can be treated through this new partnership at Madison Elementary range from ear infections to strep to the flu, etc... The beauty of this new partnership is that students needs beyond academics can be cared for during the school day, thus minimizing the loss of instruction and other learning opportunities taking place at Madison daily.

NPS Second Step Digital Platform
We want your child to be successful in school and that means supporting and encouraging their whole development. That's why Norman Public Schools is excited to announce we are implementing the NEW Second Step Digital platform in grades K-8 and the Early Learning Curriculum in Pre-K. While excelling in academic classes is important, children also need skills to take on learning challenges, make good decisions, manage strong emotions, and get along with others.
Please see below to learn more about what your child is learning next week and find guiding questions to assist with continuing the conversation at home. Families can also visit The Second Step Family Webpage to view full lessons and student handouts.
